The Customer Portal
What is the customer portal?
The customer portal — Konnect™ — gives every customer a unique web link (called a portal URL). When they open it, they can see all their jobs, view mockups, approve artwork, and pay invoices — all without creating an account or installing anything.
Finding a customer's portal link
Open any customer record and look for the "Portal Link" field near the top. Copy it and send it to your customer via text, email, or wherever you communicate. It looks like: kontraktr.io/public/portal/their-name-here
What customers can do in the portal
The portal is a full self-service dashboard: view every job and its status • review proofs and drop pinned comments right on the artwork (with version history per proof) • approve artwork or request revisions • pay invoices online — including partial payments, account credit, and paying several invoices at once • build and submit new orders with your shop's real ink, thread, and vinyl libraries • upload pre-paid shipping labels and packing instructions • message your team from a per-job inbox • download spend and order-history reports as PDFs • manage their own notification preferences, saved carrier accounts, and billing contact in Settings.
What customers cannot do
Customers can submit a new order request from the portal (you review it and turn it into a job), but they cannot edit existing job details, change pricing, or see any other customer's information. They only ever see their own jobs.
Make it yours — branding and payment terms
In Settings → look for Public Page Branding and White-Label Customer Portal. Upload your logo, set your accent color, and (on white-label) hide all Kontraktr branding so the portal runs entirely under your shop's name. The Customer Portal Payment Terms section lets you set per-customer terms — deposits, net terms, or pay-on-pickup — and the portal's checkout, approvals, and billing tab follow whatever you set. Customers without an override see prepaid-in-full.
The first time a customer opens their portal they get a short welcome tour that confirms their contact details and notification preferences — no setup needed on your end.
Is the portal link secure?
Each customer gets a unique, hard-to-guess URL. As long as you share the link only with the right customer, their information stays private. If a link is ever shared accidentally, you can regenerate it in the customer record.
The portal URL does not work
Double-check that you have the correct link. Open the customer record in Kontrol™ and copy the portal link fresh — don't rely on one that was copied a long time ago, as it may have changed. Make sure the job is assigned to the correct customer.
