Template Creator Guide

You build a template the same way you build any mockup in Kontraktr™ — open the editor, add your artwork, text, and shapes, and arrange them on the canvas. When it looks the way you want, you turn it into a Marketplace listing with one click.

1. 1Open any job and click the mockup editor, or go to Marketplace → "Create Template".
2. 2Add your text, upload your artwork, and drop in any shapes (circles, lines, badges) you need.
3. 3Position and size everything on the canvas until the layout is finished.
4. 4Keep the canvas background empty — buyers layer your design over a real garment photo.

The magic of a sellable template is letting buyers personalize it without breaking your design. Select any text element and mark it as an editable zone so buyers can swap in their own team name, city, or year. Everything else stays exactly where you put it.

• Keep the important parts of your design centered with a little breathing room around the edges — it keeps art inside the printable area on most garments.
• Upload artwork with a transparent background so it composites cleanly over any garment color.
• Lock the parts of your design that shouldn't move; only leave text zones editable.
• Mention the print method your template is built for (screen print, DTG, heat transfer) in the listing description so buyers know what they're getting.

Pick the single most relevant category. Use 5–10 specific tags.

Earnings accumulate in your seller balance. To withdraw, you need a connected Stripe account with identity verification and a bank account on file. This is a legal requirement — Kontraktr™ cannot bypass it.

4. 4Complete Stripe's identity verification (5–10 minutes — have your SSN or EIN and a government ID ready)
5. 5Add your bank account for ACH direct deposit
6. 6Payouts run on the 1st and 15th of each month for any balance over $10

   Finish your design in the editor

   Open any job and click the mockup editor, or go to Marketplace → "Create Template". Build your design and mark your editable zones.

   Click "Create Template"

   When your design is ready, save it as a Marketplace template right from the editor. There's nothing to export — the editor packages it for you.

   Fill in the listing form

   Name, description, category, tags, garment type, print location, and price. Description should mention the print method (screen print, DTG, heat transfer) the template is optimised for.

   Upload preview images

   Minimum 800×800 px PNG or JPEG. At least one image should show the template on a dark garment and one on a light garment. More images = more sales.

   Submit for review

   Click "Submit for Review". The Kontraktr™ team checks all listings within 2 business days. You'll receive an email when it's approved or if changes are needed.

Every submission is reviewed within 1–2 business days. If your listing is rejected, you'll receive an email explaining why — fix the issue and resubmit with no limit on attempts.
