The Kalendar Timeline (Gantt View)
Finding the Timeline
The Gantt chart is the Timeline view inside Kalendar — open Kalendar from the sidebar and pick Timeline in the top bar. Every press (or operator) is a row, and each job is a horizontal strip laid out against the clock. The strip's length is its run-time: a longer run is a longer strip. A red NOW line marks the current time so you can see what should be on press right now.
Rescheduling jobs
- 1Drag a job strip to a different time slot, or to a different press / operator row, to reassign it.
- 2Grab the strip's right edge and drag to lengthen or shorten the run-time. Times snap to 15-minute increments.
- 3Overlaps resolve themselves — if two runs would collide on the same press, the later one ripples down so nothing double-books.
- 4A Load bar on each row, plus per-day capacity bars in the Week and 3-Week zooms, show how full each press is.
Zooms, grouping, and filters
Switch the Timeline zoom between Day (hour-proportional, true to the clock), Week, and 3-Week (tighter press × day grids for planning further out). Group rows by press or by operator. Filter by press, by priority (All, Rush+, Hot), or by status, and search by job, customer, or title. Strips are colored by status so in-progress vs. waiting reads at a glance.
A long run that won't fit in one day spans across days automatically, and the visible hours come from your shop-hours setting — so the board matches when your floor actually runs.
Capacity and auto-scheduling
The Kadence Insights panel beside the Timeline keeps your shop-capacity gauge, machine load, and at-risk jobs in view. To fill an unscheduled backlog fast, click Run Kadence — it drafts a placement for each job as a ghost chip you can accept one-by-one or apply all at once.
